How it Works
Laser hair removal uses pulsating beams of light that harmlessly pass through the skin to remove unwanted hair from the face, neck, underarms, back, legs, arms and bikini area. The laser targets the melanin, or pigment, in the hair shaft and disables the hair follicle, which stops future hair growth. Laser hair removal can be used on many different skin types however, white, blond or gray hair usually cannot be removed with laser hair removal since there is no pigment in the hair for the laser to target.
Why do I need multiple treatments?
Laser Hair removal is a progressive treatment that has more impact each time you have it done. Hair grows in 3 phases: anagen, catagen and telegen. During the anagen growth phase, the hair contains an abundance of melanin, the pigment which gives your hair its color. This is the phase during which laser hair removal treatments are most effective. Because there is no way of telling exactly what phase the hair is in, several laser treatments are needed to target the hair that is in the anagen phase. Treatments must be schedule consecutively 4-6 weeks apart.
