Microblading is a form of semi permanent makeup that deposits pigment 1mm into the skin (epidermis) replicating your own natural hair. Unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing which is performed using a machine, microblading is done with a manual, handheld tool with attached needles that are placed in a linear pattern. Pigment is placed into the skin following the natural growth of your hair, giving you a natural, fuller and more shapely brow.
How Long Does It Last
Microblading can last anywhere from 9 months to 3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and post care. Clients with oily skin may not retain the pigment as well. Everyone will respond to the procedure differently, we cannot guarantee your results.
Why Do I Need Two Appointments
Microblading requires a minimum of two appointments, an Initial appointment and Touch-Up appointment. Your brows are not complete until after your Touch-Up appointment. Following your Initial appointment, your brows will look very bold and much darker until they heal. During the first 5-7 days the color will fade. Some clients like them better as they fade while others prefer a more bold, defined look. You may heal "patchy" the first time and it may seem as though the pigment has vanished in some places. During the Touch-Up appointment we assess the color and any changes in symmetry they may occur during the healing process. Additional touch up appointments may be necessary for customers with very oily skin, problematic skin, darker pigmentation or customers that did not follow after care procedures correctly.
How Is The Design/Color Decided?
Design and color is decided during you initial appointment. If you have a lot of questions or concerns, you may send me a photo of your brows prior to the appointment and we can discuss your options. You may also choose to come in with you brows filled in so I can see how you like them. I will draw a shape onto your brows and we will choose the color before the procedure starts. The color selection process will take into consideration your skin tone, hair color and brow color. PLEASE NOTE - Overall design including thickness, length and color is completely customized to each individual client. We are happy to design a thin, less dramatic brow or just create a little fullness to your natural brow if so desired.
How Long Is Healing Process?
Immediately following the procedure your skin may be a little red and feel a bit tender. This could last for a day or two. The area will not form a thick scab, however most clients experience dryness and a thin layer of dry skin that flake off as the skin heals. Although we ask you refrain from swimming for 1 week after the procedure, you may shower and wash your face with a gentle cleanser. The healing process typically lasts 5-7 days, during this time we ask that you strictly adhere to the aftercare instructions provided to prevent infection, irritation and loss of pigment.
